Fall 2007 Trend: Faux Reptile skin Accessories

by Pascalle on August 23rd, 2007

As you can tell by my latest posts, I’ve been a bit… obsessed (?)… with the upcoming Fall 2007 season fashion-wise. I dunno, there’s just something about a new season starting and seeing all of the fresh new styles of clothing and accessories that I can add to my wardrobe. I guess it should be said that post-pregnancy I donated of a lot of clothing that just didn’t fit me anymore, which left me with an almost empty closet. Sounds sad but it isn’t, because all it meant was that I could/can start fresh. Since I’ve started writing this blog I’ve done just that *wide toothy grin*. Again, it’s always much to my husband’s chagrin because he just cannot understand why a person would need so many shoes. Silly, silly man…but I digress.

So recently, as you all know, I’ve been blogging about Fall 2007 trends as I’ve been seeing online and in magazines (sidebar: Ladies, I recently picked up the new September ‘07 Vogue Magazine. 840 pages of fashion! *Fans self* Sweet Jesus take the wheel… I’ve never had a heavier magazine in my life. I haven’t even cracked it open yet for fear I will go buck wild and want everything!!!! Therefore it lies next to my bed. Just…waiting…and waiting. Le sigh…) Have I digressed again? Sorry. OK. *Clearing throat* Let’s get started.

Faux Reptile skin accessories. It’s everywhere it’s fabulous. This week I mentioned Halle Berry her fantabulous crocodile skin tote.

She’s ‘toting’ (ha, ha! Get it? Nevermind) the Yves Saint Laurent ‘Tribute’ bag.

Wow. And for, oh, just a measly $1,200 USD you can have your own too! *Giggles*

Let it be said though, for myself, I will go the ‘FAUX’ route as I am not down with wearing real crocodile or snake, or really 99% of any animals out there (but leather. I will still rock leather, sorry PETA!). But that’s just me and my personal choice. I won’t knock anyone else’s. Besides, you all know I’m all about cheap chic, so I couldn’t afford an X-thousand dollar real croc item anyyy-damn-way! Therefore, for those who are along with me for the faux reptile, cheap chic route, here we go!

I found some amazing stuff today ladies and as usual decent prices too:

Target (aka ‘Tarjé) has a fabu collection by Devi Kroell for Target with faux snakeskin. Check it out:

Continuing on with Target (I swear I love that store! Speaking of which, when the HELL is it coming to Canada?! Is it ever going to come to Canada?! That’s the ONE thing I miss about living in New York, because everything else is up here in Canada BUT Target! Argh!!! *takes a deep breath* Can you tell I’ve been a bit, er, um, moody this week?) there were other amazing faux croc/snakeskin finds:

Mango Tango Faux Croc Laptop Bag - $47.99 USD (for my Hot Mama-nistas who blog, and/or have to be ‘connected’ at all times! LOL!)

Simply ‘gorge’. I am totally eyeing that LAI LAI bag. Hmm… Anyway! Continuing on (yes, there’s more), first, I have to tell you gals that I had to eat some crow today because I always vowed never, ever, ever to buy or wear anything with Jessica Simpson’s name on it. I know, I know…silly thing to say. We really should never say ‘never’, but I did in her case because, well, I dunno, I found her shoes to be tacky. Same for JLo and her fashion line, same for Beyoncé and her (her mother’s?) line. I just don’t like their stuff. Again, personal choice. But forJessica Simpson, today, I will humbly say that her shoes really aren’t so bad at alllll. Case in point, her ‘Croc embossed’ pumps (sold via Victoria’s Secret). Take a look:

I literally had to rub my eyes when I saw the name ‘Jessica Simpson’ on top of the page. For real. I kid you not. These are great. How comfortable are they, I have nooo clue, but jeez Louise, I mean, really? Does even matter? How much are they, you ask? Only $69.00 USD. That’s even better. Great looking shoe at a great looking price. Honey, I’m all for it. Therefore today, is the first day that I will begin the Hot Mama Daily ‘The Hotness’ Award. The HMD ‘The Hotness’ Award will be awarded to items/designers that have an item that is amazingly hot and well priced all at the same time. So Jessica sweetie, brava! Well done.

So tell me: Will YOU be rocking any faux reptile skin accessories this Fall?
