True story: I only owned TWO pair of maternity pants during my my third trimester and they were both from Old Navy. I refused to pay top dollar for overpriced pants at maternity ’specialty’ stores. I simply refused. I bought one pair of maternity jeans, and the other was a pair of cordoroy maternity trousers that I wore often to work. I honestly don’t know how I survived on just 2 pairs of maternity pants (throughout my first 2 trimesters I got away with pairing long tops and SUPER LOW-RISE jeans which allowed my expanding belly to be free) but at the end of my pregnancy I couldn’t anymore. Besides, I could no longer get away with the low-rise jeans b/c I couldn’t get them past my thighs any-damn-way. Ugh. Whatevs
Oh yeah, and I also had a pair of yoga-type black pants. Godsends, I tell ya.
So whether you are 2 seconds pregnant or 7 months, invest in at least 2-4 pair of comfy pants, and remember: you will need them post-partem too! Trust me on that.
