NYX Cosmetics Trio Eyeshadow: Product Review
Hey everyone! So sorry for the delay is posting lately. As most of you who read Hot Mama Daily routinely know, I had a trip to Bermuda planned with some girlfriends and I am pleased to say we’ve just returned and had a faaaaaaabulous time. Can I tell you, we shut that little island DOWWWNNN! Whoo! It was a blast. I will definitely recommend Bermuda to anyone who will listen. Beautiful island filled with beautiful, kind-hearted people.
Where are the pictures of my trip you ask? Yeah, yeah, I’ll get to some tame pictures of my trip eventually, and will try to post some throughout the week. Deal? Good.
So back to business. I’m refreshed and ready to get back to work for you gals. First item to tackle today, a quick review of a brand I’d never heard of before my trip to Bermuda, NYX Cosmetics.
At first glance you’d think the name stands for something regarding New York (like I sure did–we native New Yorkers always things it’s about us, don’t we? Tee hee!) but it’s not. The company originated in Los Angeles and the name NYX is Greek–NYX was the ancient Greek goddess who ruled the night. Love that!
A near and dear friend of mine, Lili (who is also a make-up artist and fellow blogger) introduced me to NYX’s Trio Eyeshadow in shade TS6 (Purple, Deep Purple, Prune) and I. Fell. In. Love.

My problem with most eyeshadows (I’m usually a Cover Girl eyeshadow addict) is that they are usually too light for nighttime wear. When going out at night I sometimes want a dramatic effect for my eyes. I want them to pop. Knowing Lili had an arsenal of makeup in her kit, I asked her if she had some purple eyeshadow she could lend me since I wasn’t happy with the results of my eyeshadow. She handed me her NYX TS6 and the rest is beauty history. It was super easy to apply and had a great texture. Best of all, it last the whole night without creasing and/or fading.
Here’s the pic of me wearing it that night (click close-up pic to zoom):
I used a combination of all 3 colors with the darkest shade on my eye crease. I also used a teeny bit to trace my lower lashes. I’m not usually one to brag, bwahhaha!!! yeah, right! but I must say my eyes look lovely, non?
I automatically assumed NYX was a super expensive high-end cost cosmetics line and was shocked when Lili told me she bought it at a local pharmacy chain in our area. Whaaaa…..!! Fabu makeup at a fabu price?! So you know I had to pass the good word to you gals. Wanna know what else? They offer online shopping and deliver for both U.S. and Canadian residents in each of those respective countries websites (though they do have distributors worldwide):
Their trio eyeshadows retail at $7.00 USD/$9.99 CAD on their website(s). Ah, the Makeup gods are good indeed.
If the eyeshadows are any indication, I think I’ll like the rest of what NYX has to offer as they also sell lip, face, nail and body products.

Thanks Sarah! :)
If you live in either the U.S. or Canada you can order online. If you don’t live in either country check out their main website to see who the distributor is in your home country.
Where there’s a will there’s a way! ;)
Good luck and keep me posted!
