Could I be any more of a fanatic for Halle Berry? I think I’m running out of adjectives so I won’t use the word ‘fab’ or ‘fabulous’ again, I’ll just say she looks marvelous.
I…just…love this woman’s style.
Here’s Halle and her partner/boyfriend (?) model Gabriel Aubry at Calvin Klein’s 40th Anniversary on the High Line in New York City (what up NYC!!!)

*Nods head in approval* Yup. Me likey.
p.s. And I know I’m late on this, but how cuuuuute is little Nahla?! (Not as cute as my 21 month old puddin’ pop, but I’m just sayin’ she’s pret-ty darn close….)

One word: BO-RING. I was so disappointed in the show this year. Totally anti-climactic. You would thing being the 25th anniversary and all that MTV would have put out all the stops. Where was Madonna (on tour)?, Michael Jackson (who knows)? Guns N’ Roses (are they even still friends)?.
I was really expecting some of the big acts from the 80s to show up and represent or at least have a some stars from today perform them in a bigger capacity (not on a side stage!) BIG let down. Or is it that I’m getting old? *Le sigh*
Anyhoo, let’s just get right to the fashion:
Britney!

*Gives standing O* Ms. Spears 100% redeemed herself after last year’s VMA fiasco (time flies, doesn’t it? Weren’t we just cringing talking about this performance? What a difference a year makes…)
She played it a bit safe with two different silver dresses (not crazy about dress # 2 - reminds me of Wilma Flintstone), but either way, safe is so the way to go in Brit Brit’s case now-a-days.

Kudos to her dad. She looks marvelous. Well done.
Rihanna. Meh. While it’s a nice dress on the red carpet, I’m over her wearing corset dresses. And the white heels? Nope.

Her makeup, however? F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S!

RiRi looked ama-ZING on stage (especially in her performance with T.I.) Loved the little cropped biker jacket (that she wore with nothing underneath, I might add!) You all know I’m a sucker for rocker chick fashion…

Speaking of cute cropped biker jackets, model Bar Refaeli wore one with her dress and it looked grrrreat!

Solange (singer). FA-BU! Love the shorter hair, love the color of her dress? jacket? Whatever it is, it looks great on her.

And the heels? Fiyah!!

Christina Aguilera. Whoa. All I thought of during her performance was, “HOT MAMA!” The Elvira/Catwoman makeup and ensemble worked for her (both on the red carpet and off).

Isn’t her son only like 8 months old? Niiiice.
P!nk. She effin’ ROCKS! So I’ll forgive her for this, um, Beetlejuice-inspired number.

Ciara. Hot. I love the entire look from top to bottom. You better work Cici!

Jordin Sparks - Adorable.

Keri Hilson. Nope.

Pussycat Dolls. (singer). Meh. Coulda been better on all parts (just like the damn award show…)

Gals (and lurking guys–LOL–*wink*) I need your help.
See, I’m going to a wedding in a few weeks, and I’ve been looking for a neutral/nude/taupe colored pump to wear with the dress I have. I did my usual searches and landed on a clearance item on SteveMadden.com
SONIK pump (in Taupe patent, other colors available):

Very simple pump, the color is perfect for my dress and at $47.99 on clearance, hey, I couldn’t lose. So I ordered it. Case closed, right? Or so I thought…
Then I decide to keep ‘browser window shopping’ (as I call it) and wanted to see what other shoes SM has in-store for Fall ‘08. Why, oh why, did I do that??
I stumbled upon this lovely speciman:
Steven by Steve Madden ‘DARIAA’ pump - $169.00 USD

$169.00?!? What!?! For a Steve Madden pump? But…but… *stutters* aren’t they lovely? They come in other colors too:

Ok. So here’s where I need you guys: I don’t want to (pre)order them. I really, um, don’t. Please give me some reasons as to why I shouldn’t (besides the price)… I really need convincing b/c my heart is weak and the shoes are calling me…
Help a sistah out! Pleeeease!!

Got another site to share with you all.
First some background. I have a new obsession (to add on to my existing obsession to handbags and shoes): nail polish. Blame it Rihanna, but I’m all over the “interesting nail polish color” thing.
So, I was looking for a nice (non-neon) yellow polish and did my usual Google search. I found that Chanel has a new “pop-art” shade collection called “Robertson Boutique“, which includes ‘LA Sunrise‘, a gorgeous shimmery yellow.

I like Chanel’s nail polishes. I’d had Black Satin and Ballerina for a while now and loved those so I figured what the hell, why not on LA Sunrise. Well, at $25.00/bottle, um, no thanks (sidebar: some sellers on eBay want upwards of $40.00!!! What are they smoking?! I got my Black Satin and Ballerina from a duty-free shop while traveling so trust and believe I did NOT pay $25 bucks–tee hee! Sadly, I just learned that Chanel has pulled all beauty items, except fragrances, from all duty-free locations. Le sigh.. another reason to for me to dislike top-tier design houses. But I digress.)
So while searching soft yellow polishes, I landed on The Polish Addict.
Girls, I love this blog! I bookmarked it immediately. Written by “Pretear” (a law student–you go girl!) she offers an extremely well-written informative blog on nothing but nail polish and has fantastic pictures/swatches to go along with her commentary. Her pics are fab and can I just say I LOOOOOOOOOVE her nails!!?!

I don’t know who sits at the ‘designer trends roundtable’ and thinks up what’s gonna be hot in fashion, but whoever thought this one up for 2008 gets an epic FAIL.
Katie Holmes has been trying to push this whole rolled up Boyfriend jeans style the past few weeks and I’ll tell y’all right now I’m NOT feeling it.

Leave this trend in 1992 where it belongs. That’s it. That’s all. Thank you.
What say you: Are you feeling it?

According to NYMag.com, Project Runway winner Christian Siriano is launching his maternity fashion line in conjunction with Moody Mamas founders Marta Abrams and Elise Rosemarin.
What’s the line gonna be called? Fierce for Moody Mamas by Christian Siriano and it will premiere Spring 2009.
Love the name.
I’m looking forward to seeing the line so we can all chit-chat about it here on Hot Mama Daily…Stay tuned!

I’m sure most of my Hot Mamas living in the southern U.S. states are well are of Pickles and Ice Cream (don’t cha just LOVE that name?), the fab maternity boutiques. I just recently found them and learned they are the oldest and largest maternity clothing franchise in the United States. They’re also expanding up north (Brooklyn, NY - they’re on the way) this fall.
Along with the brick and morter boutique locations, Pickles and Ice Cream of course has an online presence too. And it’s not just clothing for Moms-to-be; there’s beauty/skincare items, diaper bags and baby items too. They’ve got all the bases covered.
Check ‘em out!

Been meaning to tell you gals about my online shopping experience with a boutique based in Chicago, Lori’s Shoes
I found them back when I was searching for my Big Buddha ‘Miranda’ handbag last month. Of course, during my ‘window browsing’ I found shoes that I desperately needed (right) so I made a purchase…again. What did I get?
Boutique 9 ‘Hayes’ pump (which I’ve discussed before) - $114.00 USD

and I also bought some gorgeous yellow pumps too:
Boutique 9 ‘Narcissa‘ pump - $120.00 USD

I have to say it was a seemless and perfect online shopping experience. The service was fast, they emailed me every step of the way at various points of my order and my deliver was perfectly packed. It was almost as if I was there AT their store in Chicago b/c I received a shopping bag and a point of sale receipt in my package. Perfect!

Their shoes and handbag selection is great and I’d definitely shop there again. Thanks Lori’s! Read More
