Swimwear 2008 Sneak Peeks: One-Piece Cutout Suits

by Pascalle on February 29th, 2008

I’m all over these one-pieces. I love ‘em.

Yeah, it’s below freezing where I am, and the snow just keeps coming but I got my eye on Bermuda in a few weeks (going in April–yippeeeee!) Therefore I’ve been shopping like a beast for Hot Mama swimwear for my “every-2 years-all-girls-no-husbands/boyfriends-or-kids getaway” trip with my girlfriends. Imagine 10 women (yes, 10) on a trip to a beauuutiful, sunny island. OMG. I. Can’t. Wait.

That said, you know my girls are going to go on this trip on their A-game. The pressure is ON. Especially for the other new moms like myself (3 of us in the crew have had babies in the past year). Most of the girls in the group are going mad in the gym right now in preparation for the trip, but I’m too lazy (and too tired!) for the gym (sad but true), so I won’t be wearing anyyyyy 2 piece swimwear or bikini’s for this trip BUT! I’ve kinda found an alternative for myself…

What is the perfect suit for me to cover the pouch a bit AND cover the line? A one-piece cutout bathing suit, of course.

Yep. And I bought this one:

The Hotness.

Now some of you are thinking: Um, how do you expect to pull that off without working out?? I’ll tell you. I’ve been kinda lucky in the love handles department. My issue is my post-baby pouch and the linea negra (that is taking IONS to disappear, I might add!!!) My sides and hips are OK.

And I’ll guiltily admit that I first saw it on Eva Longoria in the new bebe ad campaign that she’s doing for bebe Sport. I don’t really care for her personally, but I will be woman enough to admit she looked H-O-T in the pic I saw. Click here to see Eva in the swimsuit.

Here are some others I found for various prices online:

Victoria’s Secret

Sun-thru™ Swimwear one-piece - $60.00 USD

Metallic logo one-piece - $64.00 USD

American Apparel Nylon Tricot Maillot - $45.00 USD

Alloy Split Aqua Net One-Piece $54.50 USD

(I also got this one below in red)

Alloy Cut-Out one-piece - Reg. $42.50 USD, on sale! $34.00 USD

Important lesson to learn here: know what works for you and your body type. I love this style for me b/c it perfectly covers what I need it to. That should be the general rule of thumb while shopping for swimwear–hell, when shopping for anything PERIOD, really.

I’ll showcase some other swimwear styles in the next few weeks. Stay tuned…
