What Can A Girl Do To Find A Decent (Priced) Blazer Around Here?
Every woman should have one. It should be right next to your LBD (little black dress) in your closet . Whether it’s for work or for the last touch to a casual outfit, gotta have it: a black blazer.

Or if you don’t “do” black, grey is fine too:

I’ve been on the hunt for one forever and a day. And yes, I have found plenty, but none that are a good cut, good price and good quality all in one, know what I mean?
The cheaper retailers may have great prices, but they lack in cut (too boxy, too stretchy, too…cheap looking). And the better retailers/designers have amazing cuts, but crazy prices. See the dilemma? The following are fabulous but my wallet is shaking it’s head saying “hell to the naw, Pascalle”:
Helmut Lang Viscose Flannel Blazer - $550.00 USD (not a typo)
Gorgeous, but not for 550 of MY dollars. Sorry…
And here we have J. Crew. They have fabulous cuts, but those prices are a teeny bit outside of my price range:
J. Crew Super 120s three-button jacket - $230.00 USD
Nice cut. Love the super thin lapels. But um… me no likey the price…
I guess patience is really a virtue because now a few nice ones are on sale on-line.
Max Studio.com STRETCH WOOL PINSTRIPE BLAZER - Orig $268.00, ON SALE $88.00:
Ooh… I like the skinny scarf the model is wearing it with too *gets ideas*…
How ’bout this one? Max Studio.com STRETCH WOOL BORADCLOTH BLAZER Orig. $268.00 USD, ON SALE $98.00 USD
Topshop Tall Boyfriend blazer - £40.00 (appx. $83.00 USD)
Another problem I have with the too-cheap priced blazers are arm length. I’m a tall-ish gal, with long arms. I don’t want to have the ‘cavegirl-knuckles-dragging-to-the-floor” look unless I PURPOSEFULLY buy a 3/4 sleeve version. Know what I mean? So that’s another reason (for me) to invest in a good priced one.
I’m not sure which I’ll end up buying, but I’ll definitely keep you all posted…
C’mon tell me: Where’d you get YOUR blazer(s) from? And are you in LOVE with it?

Finding the perfect blazer is a tricky endeavor. I found the best blazer (a black, Dian von Furstenberg) ever during an incredible sale at Bloomingdale’s last summer for $150. I wear it all the time because it transcends time and seasons. I’m sure I’ll wear it forever.
Out of the choices listed above, I like the second Max Studio jacket the best.

Tricky endeavor is RIGHT…I never knew it’d be so damn hard! You definitely lucked out w/that DVF blazer..
I was leaning towards the 2nd Max Studio one too.. but I’m still iffy. I keep thinking if I hold out I’ll find something cheaper *blushes and runs!*

I don’t blame you for holding out for something a little more wallet friendly. I searched a ton of websites for you and all the good stuff was more than $100. I did find this jacket at La Redoute but it’s tweed so it won’t work for summer. But if you’re in a cold weather climate, it may be a worthwhile purchase at $54.99. It comes in black and brown and has great round button detailing.
I’ll let you know if I see anything else.

That blazer was great StyleNosh, but the problem was that La Redoute doesn’t deliver to Canada :(
But I found something–see my new post ;)
